Home Sweet Home: Part 1

The house is (mostly) done!  We actually finished painting two weekends before we hosted Christmas, and pictures and decorating was being done up until the day before.  There's lots of photos, so I decided to split the house up into two parts- there's actually a natural divide of where the more formal (and usually cleaner) part is, and the more family friendly (and messy) part of the house.  We still need curtains through most of the house, some artwork in our bedroom, and furniture for the formal living room.

Up first, the more formal area.  This includes the entry, formal living room, dining room, man cave, and master bedroom and bathroom.  Throughout the house, we had professionals take down the wallpaper, but then we sealed, mudded, sanded, caulked, and finally painted the walls.  Lots of work.  But a picture is worth a thousand words, right?

Entry:

Formal Living Room:

Yup, still have one of our Christmas trees up.  We're not sure what furniture will end up in this room.  Painted Sherwin Williams Sleepy Blue, and replaced the carpet.

Dining Room:

Painted Sherwin Williams Rainwashed.  Dining Set was my Christmas gift from the hubs.

Blake's Man Cave:

Painted Sherwin Williams Morning Fog.  The bathroom is also Morning Fog on top, and Sherwin Williams Gibraltar below the chair rail.  Rug and towels from Target.  Sleeper sofa (not pictured) from Craigslist.

Master Bedroom:

Painted Sherwin Williams Deep Sea Dive.  Rug from USArugs.com.  Lamps and pillows from Target. Comforter from a local overstock store.  Probably my favorite makeover in our house.

Master Bathroom:

Painted Sherwin Williams Utterly Greige.  Towels and rugs from Target.  The toilet room also got painted, and below the chair rail in there is a darker color, but I forgot to take a before or after pic in there.

We definitely still have some more decorating to do, but I'm not in any real rush.  I tend to gather things I love over time, and I like the way that turns out for me.

  3. WOW it looks fabulous!! We've been in our house for almost two years and we still aren't completely finished.. I wonder if you ever do get "finished" or if you just keep updating, redecorating, etc. Anywho, the house looks excellent! Great job!
